At Kidnecting Potential, our Occupational Therapy programs are rooted in Sensory Integration Theory and delivered through our expert therapists' personalized, 1:1 DIR Floortime approach. We focus on building essential skills like reflex integration and sensory processing, foundational for higher-level abilities such as motor planning, communication, and executive functioning. Our bottom-up approach ensures these critical skills are established on solid, interconnected foundations, paving the way for meaningful growth and development.

Our programs are developed through a thorough and holistic process, which includes gathering background information, analyzing current evaluation results, and conducting interviews with the child’s family and/or caregivers. Common signs of sensory processing difficulties include:

  • Delays in speech, language, or motor skills

  • Clumsiness or difficulty understanding body awareness in relation to others or objects

  • Heightened or reduced sensitivity to sounds, touch, pain, or temperature

  • Challenges transitioning between activities or environments

  • Social difficulties, including reluctance or awkwardness in interactions and trouble making or keeping friends

  • Distractibility and impulsivity

  • Emotional outbursts disproportionate to situations
